Our Philosophy

We know that in order to manage the best possible results, we have to focus our work in a solid mission, with a unique vision and principles with which we identify ourselves and share ethics.

Only with this, we will be able to carry on with our everyday fight which the team of Paz y Desarrollo once started, and increase our capacities, empathy and motivation in order to achieve a more equitable and fairer world.  

                   Mission

Contribute to promote (among the South villages and in our own society) gender equality, throughout social justice, the equitable redistribution of resources, the exercise of the main human rights, and the improvement of life quality among men and women who up until today live in poverty and exclusion situations.

 Vision

Paz y Desarrollo wishes to be valued and well-known for its fight against poverty, the promotion of gender equality and of the rights of women and girls: by supporting processes focused of social redistribution and sustainable and equitable development; a change in the power relations between men and women which focuses in excluded groups; and the promotion of critical consciousness in favour of change among the population, in order to end with gender discrimination. 

Principles

1. Gender equality (formal and real) is a present goal in all our actions and interventions. 

2. To promote values that take into account the aim of equality and no discrimination between men and women, and guarantee that economic activity deals with its main function, which is to provide with the sufficient resources and access to them, so that people can develop themselves with the help of social transformation processes  in the area of social economy. 

3. To boost the proposal of a general concept of wellbeing to guarantee that people have the possibility of developing their qualities, especially in that related with democracy and citizenship participation and in the frame of Human Rights in order to promote equity and social justice. 

4. To promote human rights for women and girls as an inalienable part, as an integral and indivisible of human rights and of fundamental liberties.

Adhesion of the Code of Conduct for the NGDO’s of the CONGDE

Paz y Desarrollo assumes, follows and promotes the Code of Conduct of the NGO’s for Development of the CONGDE, approved by the Ordinary General Assembly of the CONGDE on the 28th of March of 1998. The contents of the values and principles, the vision and mission of Paz y Desarrollo follow the characteristics and general concepts established by the CONGDE, in behalf of the "Identities of the NGDO's"
